Welcome to a perfect Pacific Northwest romantic getaway in The Salish Seaside Escapes cabins on Orcas Island! Our waterfront Salmon Shoal is a stunning two-bedroom, one-bath cottage that surrounds you with privacy and serenity.
Each bedroom features a Queen-sized bed with luxurious linens and creative décor. The cabin also includes a full bathroom, a fully-equipped kitchen with an amazing view and fantastic skylight, a romantic fireplace, a Queen-sized sleeper sofa, and washer and dryer. Though the views from the huge picture windows in the living room and dining space are spectacular, you’ll want to step outside onto the deck that runs the entire length of the house. Not only will you want to take in the views of Saturna Island, the Georgia Straits, and Patos, Sucia, and Matia islands, but you’ll want to enjoy the hot tub, grill, patio furniture, and delightful foliage and flowers, or wander down to the shared sauna on property for all guests to enjoy.
Salmon Shoal has yet another amenity which boaters will find extremely attractive. If you are planning a sailing vacation in the San Juan Islands, but would like a few nights on dry land—with a hot tub, on-property sauna, elegant restaurants a mile away, and laundry facilities, Salmon Shoal can offer a welcome respite. A mooring buoy is located just off-shore meaning there’s easy walk-up access from your dinghy to Salmon Shoal. Have the best of both worlds: Your boat anchored just off the deck and hot tub, the water waiting (patiently) for you after a leisurely breakfast on dry land, complete with a cup of Salish Blend Dark Roast, freshly prepared in the cottage with the Grind & Brew coffee maker.
Please note that the Salmon Shoal cottage is the upper level of the building with our staff using the lower level. Each level is completely private with its own separate entrance.
“I recently stayed in the lower level unit of Salmon Shoal - one of several delightful cottages in the Salish Seaside Escape group of cottages. Salmon Shoal offers a large deck with spectacular views of the Salish Sea. The one-bedroom unit is spacious with a comfortable queen bed, sofa and table and chairs. There's a large TV for gaming, but the beauty of the area will call you outside to watch eagles and other wildlife. The bathroom is spacious as well, with a steam sauna in the shower. Salmon Shoal was a great base of operation from which to explore and enjoy all that Orcas Island has to offer.” – TripAdvisor, May 2015
