Heron Cove is an unabashedly luxurious two-story Orcas Island cottage rental, designed (sculpted is rather more appropriate!) by renowned architect-artist James Hubbell that features stained glass windows, metal sculpture work, ceramic mosaics, and mixed-media artwork (all done by local craftsmen) that function as fireplaces, wall sconces, railings, and lights throughout this jewel-box of a cottage.
The master bedroom suite waits upstairs with a Queen-sized bed, fireplace, entertainment system, and a stunning soaring bird stained glass window. The bathroom is outfitted with a cove-like shower and Jacuzzi tub, as well as a heated towel rack. Additional relaxation can be found in the shared sauna on our resort grounds. Enjoy the amazing waterfront views of the Salish Sea, Patos and Sucia Islands from this romantic Orcas Island cottage.
The downstairs houses a cozy living room with a Queen-sized sleeper sofa, a fireplace, and surround sound entertainment system with a convenient half-bath. The gourmet kitchen offers a gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, and cooking utensils, and there's a gas grill outside. The two outdoor decks of this cottage are ideal for dining al fresco or experiencing the morning sights and sounds with a cup of Salish Blend Dark Roast, freshly prepared with the Grind & Brew coffee maker in the kitchen.
“We arrived late on a Thursday night and were booked in Heron Cove. We found the place with no issues with the help of Google Maps (for future reference, look for the fire hydrant)! We easily checked in by calling the property managers, who were just lovely! The airline had lost my husband's luggage so they helped us out by providing him with a toothbrush and toothpaste and a bottle of wine to welcome us and help us get over our stressful day. We were left alone for out stay but when we needed help or had a question, someone was there within minutes. Excellent service!! The cabin itself was quite comfortable! We loved all of the extras that made it homey- especially the full kitchen where we were able to cook wonderful breakfasts each day. The coffee was also amazing- a proprietary blend just for the Salish Seaside escapes!! We also loved exploring the property and were able to watch a magical sunset right off of the rocky water's edge.
This island, the property, and the people on it are just magical. It was a perfect place to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Bring an eye mask because the sun comes up early on Orcas!! We are from Texas so the weather was amazing. I can't wait to return!” – TripAdvisor, July 2016
